Volunteers!
Volunteers are an essential part of the success of our Penguin summer team. Each week, the work of many devoted parents, siblings, friends and swimmers enable our practices and meets to go off without a hitch. To honor that often times unrecognized dedication, we select a truly unique volunteer each summer to receive a truly special award. The individual or individuals selected is a person or persons who have committed over the season that their tireless efforts and have played an instrumental role in the total outcome in the success of the swim program.
As you can imagine this is a tremendous responsibility and feat. These individuals we all know and love. They have continually demonstrated that all swimmers and families are important to the team. Every job they have taken on has been done with much love and respect for the entire team. They are known throughout the community and League as exemplary individuals. They are a team from leading the BC Penguins; to setting up and taking down for meets; sending emails; attending practices; running the snack bar; and keeping us all mentally healthy and organized. Each summer they are doing that and more. This support allowed our team to sponsor the first BCSC All Star hosted meet. We rally behind them to support this effort.
Their names with other recipients will appear on the award to demonstrate the history of the caliber of volunteers that we have been so blessed to be a part of the Penguin family. Congratulations!
